    Genesis Moot

Posted on October 23rd, 2017 by Scouter Donna

November 10-12th, 2017 is Venture Genesis Moot at Camp Bel in Dorchester this year.  The theme is Colour Run!  We will be meeting at 5pm Friday evening to register and set up our gear.  We will meet at the main building.  If you need to come later just text us and we will let you  know where our camp site is located.

Ventures should be prepared to bring their own food for this weekend, along with their cook kits and stove if they have one.  You may bring your hammocks but as it is quite cold this time of year please be prepared for the weather.  We will have at least one tent available for those that would prefer to sleep on the ground.

Camp will close at 10:30am Sunday morning.

**The Colour Run theme may involve colourful powder being thrown around.  I would suggest you have some extra clothes with you that you don’t mind getting covered.  I am not sure how well it will wash out so be prepared!  Also some wipes to clean up your face and hands may come in handy.

As always please contact Myles or I if you need more details or have questions

    Ranger Weekend

Posted on October 23rd, 2017 by Scouter Donna

This Friday Ventures will be meeting at Sylvan House for Ranger Weekend.  We will be moving a shed and filling it with wood.  Work gloves and old clothes would be helpful to bring along.  Your volunteering time this weekend can go towards the hours you need for high school so bring your sheet to be signed.

Friday supper we will purchase pizza and bringing a ceaser salad.  Saturday supper is still undecided but will be discussed on messenger. If you would like to partake please bring $10, if not please bring your own suppers.  You should bring your own breakfasts, lunches and snacks.

You may show up anytime after 5:30pm Friday evening, and head home Sunday anytime after 11am.  We will be closing the camp sometime around 2pm.

If you have any questions send Myles and I an email.

    Apple Day

Posted on September 27th, 2017 by Scouter Donna

Apple Day is October 7, 2017.  All sections will meet at Richard’s Memorial Church at 9:30am Saturday morning.  Youth will be broken into groups of two or three and sent to varies locations around our area of East London.  We ask that parents or Guardians plan on staying for the duration of the morning with their child.  Apple Day would not be successful without the help of parents!  Some locations will require a car to get to, but other locations will be walkable from the Church.  As the morning progresses a Scouter will be around to check up on all youth and give you more apples or switch your location if needed.

We usually wrap up around noon on Saturday and ask that everyone meet back at the Church to hand in their money cans and remaining apples.

There will be hot dogs, chips, and drinks available for all those volunteering back at Richard’s Memorial Church.

If you have any questions please contact your Section Scouter.

Thanks and hope to see everyone there!
